One of the benefits of owning good clothes is … They are *good* clothes! The investment is offset by the durability of the product! I have $60 shirts that are 6 years old and still in perfect condition. I expect them to last another 6 years – and that’s only $5 year cost of ownership (and they are pop-fashion neutral). My $300 Italian leather dress shoes are 3 years old, will easily last another few years – that’s about $5 month cost of ownership. The $35 Levi 501s I have for casual wear last about 3 years before becoming tatty yard wear. $8 year cost and all awesomeness. No me agrada ver este proyecto preseleccionado. Es inaceptable que se intente legitimar el tomar como punto de partida un local, con sus problemas y circunstancias, y que sea elaborada una respuesta que ignore absolutamente todos los parámetros que el emplazamiento exige. El simple hecho, de orden formal, de que se proponga un lago en un espacio que no es sino una colina de fuerte pendiente demuestra una leviandad en el abordaje que vá mas allá de la ingenuidad de la respuesta pensada para el contexto social. Hubiese sido presentado como proyecto en abstracto, sin un emplazamiento definido, como posibilidad de respuesta a determinadas condiciones de imperativo social (como lo hizo Le Corbusier con sus unidades de habitación), y sería interesante. Así, más que ser ingenuo, es infantil. Y si la ingenuidad es un modo de ser inocente, la infantilidad es un modo de pasar por idiota.
Wow, I never really thought about the association between my clothes and the colors I decorate with, but you’re 100% correct. I tend to wear basic color pants or skirts and a colorful top as an accent. I’m not afraid of bold colors… my office is called ‘Spa Pool’ and is a very bright blue-green with all my furniture being a very pale beech wood (I love the beach/ocean).
